Prayer for Revival — 5 Scripture-Based Prayer Points
Revival is not manufactured — it is the sovereign work of God in response to the prayers of His people. Habakkuk 3:2 is the classic revival prayer: 'LORD, revive your work in the midst of the years.' These prayer points cry out for exactly that.

Prayer Points
Father, I echo Habakkuk 3:2 — revive Your work in the midst of the years. In the middle of complacency, revive passion. In the middle of compromise, revive holiness. In the middle of division, revive unity. In the middle of spiritual drought, let the rain of Your Spirit fall, in Jesus' name.
Lord, Psalm 85:6 asks 'Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?' I ask that question and I believe the answer is yes. You are the God who revives — from Eden to Pentecost, from the Welsh revival to every genuine move of Your Spirit. Do it again, Lord, in our generation, in Jesus' name.
Father, 2 Chronicles 7:14 promises that if Your people humble themselves, pray, seek Your face, and turn from wickedness, You will heal the land. I humble myself now. I pray. I seek Your face. I turn from every compromise in my own life. Do the rest, Lord — hear, forgive, heal, in Jesus' name.
Holy Spirit, let there be a fresh outpouring as in Acts 2 — people encountered, lives transformed, the fearful made bold, the broken made whole, and thousands added to the Church. Let the fire that fell in Jerusalem fall again in our cities, our churches, and our households, in Jesus' name.
Lord, Isaiah 64:1 cries 'Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before You!' I lift that cry now — tear open the heavens over our generation. Come with the kind of power that cannot be explained away, that skeptics cannot argue with, because it is undeniably You, in Jesus' name, Amen.

What is revival?
Revival is a season of extraordinary spiritual awakening — among believers first and then extending outward. It is characterised by deep conviction of sin, genuine repentance, extraordinary prayer, bold proclamation of the gospel, and large numbers of conversions. Historical revivals under Wesley, Whitefield, and in Wales and Azusa Street all share these features.
How do I prepare for revival personally?
2 Chronicles 7:14 gives the preconditions: humility, prayer, seeking God's face, and turning from sin. Historically, revivals have often started with one or a few people who became so burdened for God's presence that they prayed with unusual intensity until the heavens opened. Personal revival — a fresh encounter with God's presence — is available to any believer who pursues Him wholeheartedly.
