Prayer Points
Father, I ask You to bring the right relationships into my life — iron-sharpening (Proverbs 27:17), faith-deepening, life-giving connections that are rooted in You. Proverbs 13:20 says the companion of the wise becomes wise; let me be surrounded by those whose wisdom and faith are contagious, in Jesus' name.
Lord, Romans 12:18 instructs me to live at peace with everyone, as far as it depends on me. I choose to do my part in every difficult relationship — to forgive, to seek peace, to be slow to offend and quick to reconcile. Give me the grace to fulfil my role even when the other person does not fulfil theirs, in Jesus' name.
Father, I pray for any relationship that is broken or strained. As Joseph forgave his brothers and was reconciled to his family (Genesis 45), let Your reconciling grace work in this situation. What the enemy has torn apart, let Your love put back together, in the way and at the time that You ordain, in Jesus' name.
Holy Spirit, let the love of 1 Corinthians 13 characterise all my relationships — patient, kind, not self-seeking, not easily angered, keeping no record of wrongs. This kind of love does not come naturally; it is the fruit of a Spirit-filled life (Galatians 5:22). Let it flow through me toward every person in my world, in Jesus' name.
Lord, guard me from ungodly soul ties, toxic connections, and relationships that pull me away from You. As Proverbs 4:23 warns me to guard my heart because it is the wellspring of life, let Your wisdom help me honour the right connections and release the wrong ones without bitterness, in Jesus' name, Amen.

How do I pray for a difficult person in my life?
Jesus commands us in Matthew 5:44 to pray for those who persecute us — this is not passive submission, it is strategic intercession. When you pray for a difficult person, you are asking God to work in them while God also works in you. It is hard to remain hostile toward someone you are genuinely interceding for. Start there.
How do I know which relationships God is sending and which I should release?
Proverbs 13:20 gives a simple filter: are they making you wiser and more God-centred? 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns against being unequally yoked. Healthy relationships will have the qualities of 1 Corinthians 13 and Proverbs 27:17. Ask God specifically and pay attention to the fruit — relationships reveal themselves over time.
