Prayer Points
Father, I declare Joel 2:28-29 over my life — in the last days, You said You would pour out Your Spirit on all people, and my sons and daughters shall prophesy, my young men shall see visions, and my old men shall dream dreams. I receive that outpouring and I position myself to receive what You want to communicate through my sleep, in Jesus' name.
Lord, speak to me in dreams as You spoke to Joseph — Genesis 37:5-9 records dreams that contained the entire map of his destiny. I ask not for dramatic experiences but for clarity of communication. If there is something You want to show me about my life, my calling, or my season that You would communicate through a dream, I am open and I ask You to do it, in Jesus' name.
Father, give me the gift of interpretation where You give me the dream — as You gave Joseph wisdom to interpret both his own dreams and Pharaoh's (Genesis 41:39), give me understanding of what You are saying. Let me not dismiss, misinterpret, or forget what You communicate. Let the Spirit who gives the dream also give the interpretation (Daniel 2:28), in Jesus' name.
Holy Spirit, guard my sleep against deceptive dreams and demonic interference — Deuteronomy 13:1-3 warns that not every supernatural dream is from God. I ask for spiritual discernment to test every dream against Scripture and the character of God. What aligns with Your Word, I receive; what contradicts it, I reject in the name of Jesus, in Jesus' name.
Lord, let every dream and vision I receive serve Your purposes — not my curiosity or spiritual ambition. Acts 10:9-16 shows Peter's vision directing the entire expansion of the gospel to the Gentiles. Let the dreams and visions You give me also be purposeful, kingdom-directed, and confirmed by Your Word and the counsel of trusted believers, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Does God still speak through dreams today?
Yes — the New Testament confirms it (Acts 2:17, Matthew 1:20, Acts 10:9-16) and Joel 2:28-29 places increased dream activity in the last days. God is sovereign in how He speaks, and dreams are one of His recorded methods. That said, not every dream is from God — some are the result of stress, subconscious processing, or spiritual attack. All dreams must be tested against Scripture.
How do I know if a dream is from God?
Biblical tests: (1) Does it align with Scripture? God never contradicts His Word in a dream. (2) Does it produce the fruit of the Spirit — peace, clarity, godly motivation? (3) Is it confirmed by other means — Scripture, prayer, counsel? (4) Does it point to God, not self-exaltation? (5) Does it stand the test of time? Genesis 41:32 notes that the doubling of Pharaoh's dream confirmed it was fixed by God.
