Prayer Standing on God's Covenant — 5 Scripture-Based Prayer Points
A covenant is not a contract — it is a sworn promise that cannot be broken. God has entered covenant with His people through the blood of Jesus, and every promise in Scripture is secured by that covenant. These prayer points are declarations of covenant faith — standing on what God has sworn, not what we have earned.

Prayer Points
Father, I stand in the new covenant purchased by the blood of Jesus — Hebrews 8:6 declares it is a better covenant established on better promises. Every covenant blessing promised to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David finds its yes in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). I declare those covenant promises over my life today, not on the basis of my performance but on the basis of His blood, in Jesus' name.
Lord, I declare the covenant of peace You established in Isaiah 54:10 — even if mountains depart and hills be removed, Your kindness shall not depart from me and Your covenant of peace shall not be removed. My circumstances may shake but Your covenant cannot. I anchor my faith in what You have sworn, not in what I see, in Jesus' name.
Father, I declare Genesis 17:7 — I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant. I am a child of Abraham through faith in Christ (Galatians 3:29), and I receive the covenant blessings as mine. The everlasting covenant covers me, my children, and my children's children, in Jesus' name.
Holy Spirit, remind me of specific covenant promises relevant to my situation — Psalm 119:49 says remember Your word to Your servant, on which You have caused me to hope. I ask You to bring to mind the exact promises God has made that apply to what I am facing today, so that my prayer is anchored in specific covenant rather than general hope, in Jesus' name.
Lord, I hold You to Your covenant word — this is not presumption but faith. Numbers 23:19 declares God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should change His mind. He said it and He will do it. I declare the relevant covenant promise over my situation and I stand in faith until I see it fulfilled, in Jesus' name, Amen.

What is covenant prayer?
Covenant prayer is intercession that stands specifically on the promises God has sworn and secured through the blood of Jesus. Rather than appealing generally to God's goodness, covenant prayer identifies the specific promise that applies to the situation and declares it. 2 Corinthians 1:20 is the foundation: every promise of God finds its Yes in Christ. Covenant prayer is therefore always prayed through Him and on the basis of His merit.
What are the main covenants in the Bible?
The major biblical covenants are: Noahic (Genesis 9 — the earth will not be destroyed by flood), Abrahamic (Genesis 12, 15, 17 — land, descendants, blessing), Mosaic (Exodus 19-24 — the Law), Davidic (2 Samuel 7 — an eternal king from David's line), and the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34, fulfilled in Jesus — forgiveness, the Spirit, personal knowledge of God). Every prior covenant finds its ultimate fulfilment in Christ.
