Prayer Points
Father, I cast this anxiety on You right now — 1 Peter 5:7 says I can do this because You care for me. This is not self-sufficiency disguised as faith; it is the act of transferring what I cannot carry to the One who can. I release it: the worry, the what-ifs, and the worst-case scenarios. You have it, in Jesus' name.
Lord, Philippians 4:6-7 gives me a direct prescription for anxiety — be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer with thanksgiving, present my requests to You. I do that now: I bring this specific anxiety and alongside it I choose to give thanks for what You have already done, trusting that Your peace will stand guard over my heart and mind, in Jesus' name.
Father, Matthew 6:34 instructs me not to worry about tomorrow because tomorrow has enough trouble of its own — You have it covered. I declare that I live in today, receiving grace for today only (Exodus 16:4 — manna for today, not stockpiled for fear of tomorrow). Today's provision is sufficient because You are sufficient, in Jesus' name.
Holy Spirit, renew my mind as Romans 12:2 commands — transform me by renewing what I think about. I choose to meditate on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8), rather than feeding the anxiety loop with worst-case thinking, in Jesus' name.
Lord, You are my shepherd and I shall not want (Psalm 23:1) — You lead me beside still waters, You restore my soul. I receive that rest for my soul that Jesus promised in Matthew 11:28-29 to all who come to Him weary and burdened. Let Your rest displace this anxiety completely, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Is anxiety a sin?
Feeling anxious is not a sin — it is a human response. Jesus said 'do not be anxious' as an instruction for living, not a condemnation for feeling. What matters is what you do with anxiety: do you sit in it and let it grow, or do you bring it to God in prayer? Bringing anxiety to God through prayer (Philippians 4:6) is the biblical response.
Can prayer help with clinical anxiety?
Prayer is a powerful spiritual tool and many believers have experienced significant relief through consistent Scripture-based prayer. It is not a replacement for professional mental health support — Christians can and should seek therapy, counselling, and where appropriate, medical help. Prayer and professional support are not mutually exclusive; they work best together.
